Come learn, share, and connect with the H5P community in Hamburg - we’re looking forward to meeting you.
Directions from Hamburg Hauptbahnhof (Central Station)
Take the U3 subway from Hauptbahnhof Süd to Mundsburg (about 6 minutes). The U3 line departs frequently, roughly every 5 to 10 minutes. From Mundsburg station, walk toward Finkenau 35. The walk is about 5–10 minutes, depending on which exit you take. Alternatively, you can use bus lines 16 or 172, which pass close by Forum Finkenau. Because of limited parking near the campus, the public transport route is usually the easiest option.

Creating a Digital Escape Room in H5P: Designing Interactive Learning Paths for Student Engagement Speaker: Ceren Calici, Millî Eğitim Bakanlığı In this session, I will demonstrate how to design and implement a fully interactive digital escape room using H5P as an open learning and content creation tool. The focus will be on building meaningful learning paths through Branching Scenarios, Interactive Video, and Course Presentations to create an immersive, student-centered experience. Participants will explore how game-based learning principles can be translated into practical classroom design, allowing students to make choices, solve challenges, and progress through a structured narrative while developing critical thinking, collaboration, and digital literacy skills. The session will include a live demo of an H5P-based escape room, an overview of the pedagogical framework behind the design, and practical guidance for educators to create their own interactive and reusable learning experiences using H5P. H5P Pain Points: Bring the Heavy Hitters Speaker: Oliver Tacke, H5P Expert H5P is great. But like any beloved tool, it has a few skeletons in the closet. There are a number of things that it lacks or that do not live up to your expectations. In this hands-on workshop, let's take a joint look and let's identify some major pain points - not small bugs that may annoy you, but things that really cause you and other members of the H5P community a headache regularly. If your issue can be fixed by clearing the cache, it’s not invited. Time is short, but I am convinced that together we'll manage to come up with a list of suggestions that will be passed over to H5P Group. |

Designing Microlearning with Guided Progression and Scripted Branching Using H5P Interactive Video Speaker: Katharina Frosch, Brandenburg University of Applied Sciences Microlearning is widely appreciated: five minutes, one topic, done. From an instructional design perspective, however, developing effective microlearning units is challenging. Guided progression is needed to keep complexity low and reduce cognitive load. At the same time, even short learning units must allow learners to try, make mistakes, receive support, reflect, or relate what they have learned to a real-life context—and then be smoothly guided back to the main learning path in order to preserve focus and remain within the intended time frame. To do so, we use the H5P Interactive Video (IV) content type as a structural and functional layer to combine guided progression with scripted didactic branching. The base video itself does not carry learning content but serves as a backbone for building the main learning path and scripted branches and loops. Speaker Bio: |
