Content Licensing

All the content available on h5p.org is licensed under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International unless anything else is specified.

Code Licensing

H5P tries to use the MIT license wherever possible due to the freedom it gives. However, because of some third party code used for purifying the user input in the H5P PHP Library that code has to be GPL licensed.

Soon the GPL code will be made optional in order to make it possible to use H5P in software that isn't GPL compatible.

There are no specific license however since H5P was launched there isn't an easy way of sharing the content. That is until the H5P OER HUB which the core team is doing their best to launch before the end of the year.

There are 2 possible ways to do this:

Use a plugin (if it is available in your platform) or create one for your platform.
Sign up for H5P.com and either embed from there or use LTI integration if your platform supports it.

To provide a best possible experience for new users and to ensure that people use H5P.org only for trying out H5P (we've had more traffic than our server can handle lately, ref also the warnings when you create content, embed content and view the content) we are experimenting with which content types should be available here.

Check the getting started page for information on how you can use all the content types and use H5P for real. We unfortunately are not able to provide free hosting, only free software :) Hopefully you'll consider supporting the H5P Core Team by using H5P.com.

GLP vs Conditional MIT License

Hi there. I'm hoping you can help clarify some licensing questions.

Regarding the following information about GPL...

... when reviewing the repositories, it seems that CKEditor4 is the only GPL package. Are you able to confirm this is true, or list other packages that have GPL license?

If CKEditor4 is the only package with GPL (and subsequently causes H5P to require a GPL license) would it be possible to add a conditional MIT license for those who have a commercial license for CKEditor4? Reference: https://ckeditor.com/docs/ckeditor4/latest/guide/dev_license.html#commer...
