Your H5P September Update

Hi H5P community,

We’ve been hard at work improving your interactive content experience, and we’re excited to share what’s new.

Latest Updates

This month’s release focuses on accessibility, stability, and smoother navigation across multiple content types:

Interactive Book Navigation Fix – when clicking on “Next page,” the scroll behavior now works properly for both top and bottom views, including embedded H5Ps. This fix is part of the Belgrade release.

Image Hotspot Accessibility – buttons now include proper alt text to meet accessibility standards.

CKEditor 5 Long Text Focus Fix – resolved an issue in Chrome where editing long text caused focus loss and scrolling to the top.

Word Cloud Accessibility – input fields now announce the header and description when accessed with a screen reader.

Agamotto Hyperlink Fix – hyperlinks now direct users to the correct sites as expected.

Wiris Formula Stability – fixed a bug in Course Presentation that sometimes displayed random characters.

Canvas SpeedGrader – improved error messaging when attempting to view a deleted report.

Drill-down Reports – corrected an issue where the number of deleted attempts did not display accurately.

We’re committed to making H5P even more inclusive and user-friendly. A huge thank you to our open-source community for your reports and contributions – you help drive these improvements forward.

New Updates Released

Alongside fixes, we’re thrilled to share some major new features now available in H5P:

The Chase in Smart Import – The Chase is the first Live Engagement Tool supported by Smart Import. You can now create competitive games that run in real-time or self-paced. With Smart Import, it’s easier than ever to generate immersive and joyful learning experiences.

Video Uploads with Transcriptions – closed captions are now automatically created when you upload videos through Smart Import.

New Sharing Widget – share your interactive content more smoothly across platforms.

Expanded LMS Connections – Sakai and Open edX are now selectable in the LMS connections list on H5P.com, making these integrations more visible for new users. This furthers our goal of making H5P.com a standard integration across major LMSs.
