Speak The Words Set Not recognizing sound of the letter 'a' and 'l'

Good Day

I recently utilized the Speak The Words Set H5P on my Wordpress website to help children make the correct letter sounds of th aplhabet. H5P version 1.15.4.

In testing on PC and mobile devices with more than one voice and using the Chrome browser, there seems to be is a consistent challenge in the application correctly recognizing the sounds of the letters 'a' and 'l'.

In the case of the letter "l", we have setup accepted answers as 'l' and 'el', however,  in all test cases, the app hears "oh" instead of the letter 'l'. Only when I add "oh" as an acceptable response does it generate a "Correct".

For the letter "a", the app seems to always hear a "h" at the begininng of the response. for example, it will hear "hey". Once I add "hey" to the accepted responses. See attached screenshots.

Hi G-Y-Z-M-O!

H5P has no control over the voice recognition part except letting you as the author set what language the expected text is written in (I assume you did that, otherwise please do). The content type uses the standard API that browsers can offer, and the browser provides the voice recognition. Speak the Words just passes the audio to the API and in return gets a list of words that were detected.

So, the developers of Chrome would be the correct addressee, I fear. There's nothing that the H5P core team could do here.

Best,

Oliver

Ok. Thank you for taking the time to respond. We will keep looking for a  solution.
