Retry option keeps appearing at end of Quiz, Pass/Fail video won't show either

I built a 10-question Quiz (Question Set). Each individual question has Behaviour Settings as so:

On top of this, the top-level Behaviour Settings of the Quiz (Question Set) looks like this:

Yet, when I go through and answer all 10 questions (even in a different browser, incognito mode, not logged in, etc), I get a Retry button at the end of the Quiz when the results are shown. 

We do not want people to be able to retake the Quiz. What am I doing incorrectly, and how do I fix it so someone can only take the Quiz once?  

On top of that, I've set up two videos, one to play if a Pass and one if a Fail is registered. They both are set up using YouTube links, but neither plays (or even show up) in either case of a Pass/Fail. Here's the setup in the backend.

Anyone know what's up with that? Do I need to toggle anything else in the backend, too?

Hi anghellickarma,

For the first question the "Retry" and "Show Solution" options cannot be disable. Not unless you hack the code to hide the buttons. 

I'm not really sure what is causing the 2nd issue. I suggest that you attach the H5P in this thread so that we can take a look.

Thanks for the reply. So, for the Retry options that are in two different places (individual question and overall quiz), what is their function if I have to use CSS to hide the buttons? 

Also, how do I attached the H5P? It's part of a WordPress installation.

Hi anghellickarma,

This documentation is a good place to start if you want to make changes to the code.

Click the download button at the bottom of the content that you created. This will download the content similar to a zip file with an extention .h5p. You can attach that file in this thread.

Hi anghellickarma,

Sorry I didn't notice it the first time I opened your screenshot. The option "Display video before the quiz results" needs to be checked for the videos to play.

For the download option your administrator may have disabled this, which is the reason why you are not seeing it.

Thank you - that option being enabled made the videos work.  

 My next question: is there a way to make branching paths? For example, is there a way for a Pass to lead to another Quiz (or some other H5P tool), and then similarly a Fail to lead elsewhere? Since it can be done with the video that is displayed, I'm wondering if one can set up branching paths and, if so, how.

If this would be better as a separate post on here, let me know and I will make it.

I'm glad the videos are playing now. 

A new content is on the roadmap which in principle works the way you described it. I don't have a timeline yet when it will be released but it is on it's way :-)

Tnahks for answering that it has to be hacked, at least I kow I should stop looking for settings.

Do you know where can i find a good tutorial about how to hide it? the provided link isn't very clear to me as I'm not a programmer and since this is a basic otption do you know if hidding the retry button functionaligy will be added in the future for wordpress?

Hi Max,

Hiding the retry button is not part of the roadmap as of the moment but we’re now working on something called the H5P supporter program allowing the H5P community to vote for and fund the top voted H5P features. Also there are developers in the community who every now and then works on a feature they find interesting or useful. In order for your feature request to attract as much interest as possible make sure it follows the below guidelines:

 

  1. It is clear from every perspective how the feature will work. We recommend describing the feature with one or more user stories, for instance “As an author I want it to be possible to pick between different effects for the check answer animation so that the learners will see a variety of effects and also I can adapt the effects to my target audience(I’ll be using pink unicorns which works really well for both my target audience which are 4 year old girls and venture capitalists)”

  2. If the feature can be illustrated with images or videos it always helps

  3. Make it clear what content types this is relevant for, and or if this is a new content type

 

Make sure you post the feature in the Feature Request forum.
