Rather than having to upload images, is it possible to display them directly by referencing the web address.

We will be using open access images (and video later) from the collections in commons.wikimedia.org and the Flickr libraries with Creative Commons licenses.

This currently isn't possible out of the box, but it will be in a future version. We have examples of users who are overriding the default image widget and uses their own content browser to insert images via url, but the code for this isn't shared.
