Interactive video and iPhone 7

Hello,

One of our students told us that she cannot see the interactive videos in her iPhone 7. I looked at her phone, and indeed the video player isn't shown anywhere.

Is there a way to fix it? Does upgrading H5P version supposed to help (we will only do that next year)?

Thanks!

Hi Adi,

could you ask your student to try with a video from H5P.org? If it works there, it may have something to do with your local set up.

Thanks, I will try that and let you know if it works or not :)

Hi Tim,

The student with the iPhone 7 said that she could see the interactive video from  H5P.org (I sent her the link - https://h5p.org/interactive-video).

You suggested that if she can see it, then it could be our local set up.

Can you please describe in more details what should we check or change?

Thanks a lot!

Hi Adi,

I guess we first have to determine if it's something wrong with the H5P content, or videofile, or setup of the system.

You can try to download/then upload the Interactive Video example, into you own system.

  • If the iPhone 7 user can see it, the problem must be in the first content you created (maybe the video format).
  • If the user can't see it, it's related to the server, and setup. Maybe someting to do with file permissions?

Hi Tom,

I tried to upload the interactive video example to our Moodle (version 2.8), but I get the message that the system was unable to install the components and that it requires a newer version (see image below). Is there any alternative link to an interactive video that I can use as an example for our test?

Thanks!

It look like you don't have the latest H5P plugin for Moodle. You should upgrade to 1.3, and try again.
