Memory game - screen fitting

Hi Terry,

Would you mind elaborating your concern.

I have made a memory game, with 20 cards. I am finding that it is not possible to fit all of the cards onto a single screen. (see attached H5p shot 1)

My first thought was to reduce the number of cards to 12. Unfortunately this didn't work as the cards got bigger to fill the space.(see attached H5p shot 2)

Removing the fit to square option in the behaviour settings did get all 12 cards onto the screen at the same time, but this gave one row of 10 cards and second row of 2 cards which made the cards too small. (see attached H5p shot 3), 2 rows of 6, or 3 rows of 4 would have been better.

It would be good if there were some way for the author to set the matix containing the cards, to optimise the display, or an automated way of doing this so the screen would look like (see attached H5p shot 4)

In the short term, is there a way of forcing "the fit to square option" to be contained on a single screen. (see attached H5p shot 4)

Thanks for your response, I hope this makes sense.

Hi Terry,

For the short term the easiest way is to use a PHP hook, to add your own CSS-file to the content type. Please visit the Visual Changes page for more details.

So that there is permanent solution I suggest that you post your suggestion in the Feature Request forum.  In order for your feature request to attract as much interest as possible make sure it follows the below guidelines:

  1. It is clear from every perspective how the feature will work. We recommend describing the feature with one or more user stories, for instance “As an author, I want it to be possible to pick between different effects for the check answer animation so that the learner will see a variety of effects and also I can adapt the effects to my target audience(I’ll be using pink unicorns which works really well for both my target audience which are 4 year old girls and venture capitalists)”

  2. If the feature can be illustrated with images or videos it always helps

  3. Make it clear what content types this is relevant for, and or if this is a new content type

Make sure you post the feature in the Feature Request forum.
