Spherical images for virtual tour 360

Does spherical images work as 360-images in Virtual tour 360? I plan on using a Ricoh Theta SC2 360 camera and it takes spherical jpeg-images. I read that Virtual Tour uses equirectangular images.

I downloaded a sample image from Ricoh Theta Z1 and it works in Virtual Tour. It should be the same image format on the SC2 so I feel a bit calmer now. I just ordered the SC2 and realized that I hadn´t checked the whole workflow.
