Mysterious X appearing in revised items for 'Fill the blanks'

I'm revising a set of Wordpress pages (using Safari on a Mac Mini), and when I revise Fill the Blanks and Single Choice activities, after I click update, a new line and an X are inserted after any changed item. Looking at the page source, the added text is:

\\n\\n\\n \\n\\n \\n\\u00d7\\n\\n \\n\\n

I am not typing this in - the multiplication sign is being added when I save and it only appears by the changed items. I have updated 'Fill the blanks' to the latest version.

An example of a page with the Xs on it is: https://tinyurl.com/y9p8qsp7

Can anyone help me? I need to update the items in the activities but I don't want the X appearing in my pages. Is this an H5P bug or is it a problem at my end?

Hi Paul!

This is nothing that H5P would add to your content parameters (that's where it's in). Is someone on your server playing with the customization hooks maybe or a copy and paste issue?

Best,
Oliver

Hi Oliver

Thanks for the response. I am not aware of anyone playing with the customization hooks but I will look at that - it is not a copy and paste issue, I believe, as I was typing the new text rather than pasting. What's strange is that it is restricted to two content types

I just tried editing the H5P activities in Google Chrome and the problem has disappeared, so I have to assume that the problem was Safari. I was getting the same thing both with revision of content but also with new pages - every piece of content was getting a new line, a multiplication symbol and a new line. OK, will work in Chrome for now, and try Safari again in a few days' time.
