Wordpress 4.8 fatal error on install
Submitted by Claudine Caro on Wed, 07/05/2017 - 15:10
I just tried installing the plugin on Wordpress 4.8.
I received the following error plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error.
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_FUNCTION in /home1/claudin3/public_html/2016/wp-content/plugins/h5p/h5p-php-library/h5p-default-storage.class.php on line 214.
What should I do?

You're seeing this error
You're seeing this error because the PHP version you're using is outdated. You need at least PHP 5.3 or newer to run the H5P plugin. However, you should strongly consider upgrading to a version that is still supported, see the Supported Versions page.
Note that by not upgrading you may be exposed to unpatched security vulnerabilities.
