Open Sans font blocked?

Forums:

Hello,

Don't know if I post my question in the right forum but since it is quite technical 'Developers' seemed to most appropriate.

We are using H5P in an environment that depends on IE11 on the client side.
This environment is quite secure and in the policy 'automatic font download' is prohibitied.
H5P is not showing properly and from the ICT department I get back it is due to the fact that H5P uses 'Open Sans' where the download of OS is prohibited.

Any help or clue is appreciated

Hi Peter,

I think the best option is for us to add a good fallback font. Or is IE11 preventing running of JavaScript because of this?

Can you tell us which content types you are having problems with, and maybe share a screenshot of what is wrong.

- Tom

Tom,

Thanks for your prompt reply. If IE11 is preventing running Java is something I would have to check and will do.
I will also gather if there are specific content types involved.

Will get back to you! Peter

Tom, I got the information that indeed IE11 is blocking Javascript because of the font. Hope you can work around this.

There are no specific content types as far as my information goes.

Hi Peter,

I think that your issue would be resolved if we distribute the font along with the editor, instead of gettnig it from Googles servers. I created a task for us to fix this, and I expect it to be resolved in the next release.

Tom, that sounds brilliant. I see that tasks can be voted for like I am used to in Moodle. Is it of any help to vote? Peter

Hi Peter,

I don't think the voting actually is used, when he is planning the releases. Nobody has ever asked about the voting before :)

- Tom

Tom any idea when this issue could be resolved?

Hi,

I am not sure when this issue will be looked into since the next release has not been planned yet.

Hi peterjonker,

I tested this in IE11 on Windows 7 with the highest security setting except for disabling JavaScript and everything still works. Are you sure JavaScript isn't disabled as well? If that is the case then there's no hope for getting H5P up and running.
