Create Video in Moodle and then publish on project website outside Moodle

Forums:
My question:
We want to create interactive videos in H5P in moodle and then publish them on the external project website.
So how is the workflow of this?
-> Upload to youtube
-> import to moodle and revise
-> export to wordpress website?
How is the export to be done? As a video file to be uploaded or through a link shared? How about rights?
Do I need to install H5P plugin on wordpress website?
In short how do I get my video from moodle to the website?
Kindest regards

Hi Lisa,
You can directly install the H5P plugin into Wordpress and host all your contents there.

Hi BV52,
thanks for your prompt reply. The University would prefer to edit and store contents in the safe environment of moodle.
So this is my question, when created in moodle it there a possibility that you can display outside of it.
Otherwise it means installing H5P and creating interactive content in wordpress itself.
Kindest regards

If using WP, you can download and upload h5ps from Moodle into WP. Have you thought of having a Guess course in Moodle to showcase the h5ps, or a course with conditional login, such as your university email address? Or perhaps in Moodle blogs? Not perfect solutions but staying withing Moodle.

Hi to both of you,
Just to piggy back on this you can also use the embed feature of H5P but the drawback is it will not generate xAPI statements for the scoring and analytics.

Dear Maude and BV52,
I need to display outside moodle is a cross university project that aims at the public. So therefore the idea was to generate within moodle (safer and faster) and then export to website to display and feed outside moodle. Because it needs to be accessible for everyone if that makes sense.
xAPI is this for tracking and viewing how many people have looked at the video?
If so the solution is to install H5p on the website as plugin and create content there? Or is there another option here?

Hi Lisa,
I agree, it is a condundrum - I would like to open my Moodle but on the other hand, in my case, I'd like to take emails so a Guest account isn't a solution and it does create a sort of wall for the uninitiated.
If your other site is in Wordpress, it is very easy to install h5p, download the Moodl h5p and upload it onto wordpress. If your Moodle theme has marketing tiles, you can easily link the WP page(s). Otherwise, I'd say go for a course with open Guest access and feature it in a marketing tile. Authentification isn't my strong point yet, but there's got to be a way of making something look right. Look at this post in the showcase - it's Moodle, it looks beautiful and it's accessibe!! Let us know pleaaaaase if you find a solution!
