CONTENT OWNERSHIP

Hello all.

I am new to this site so please excuse my ignorane. But given that this platform is open source, does that mean whatever I create here is done so with the intention of sharing it with others?

I am looking to create virtual field trips/tours with 360 degree photo spheres. If I do that here, will all the content (not just the code, but the actual photos and content) all no longer be 'mine and mine alone'? Am I essentially relinquishing my ownership over the content I create?

One of the biggest established tools for creating the kind of content I'm looking to create, is Google's Tour Creator. My main hesitancy to use this platform would be the ownership issues. If I use Google's software, they will own my content and be able to collect it.

Will that same issue be the case here, using H5P?

Thank you in advance for your help.

Hi awoods!

As you can read at various places on this website, it's for testing only. You're not supposed to host your content here, but install H5P on your own server or use H5P.com. Everything you host here will be publicly visible, but you're not transferring any rights except giving permission to show your content as long as you put it here - otherwise the test service wouldn't be possible.

Best,

Oliver

Hi Otacke, thanks for the response.

My question bothers on ownership and portability. When I create content with H5P, can I use them outside of H5P on my own server?

Thanks,

Kingsley.

Hi Kingsley,

Yes you can use it on your own site. Also since all H5P contents are liscensed under MIT liscense which allows for commercial use.
