h5p-8.x-1.0-rc18.tar.gz contains versions of modules or themes that are not compatible with Drupal 9.1.9

Hi,

I am trying to install H5P on my Drupal, I've downloaded the file from here, and when I upload it to my Drupal, I get:

h5p-8.x-1.0-rc18.tar.gz contains versions of modules or themes that are not compatible with Drupal 9.1.9

I have also tried with 7.x-1.48, but in that case I get this another error:

h5p-7.x-1.48.tar.gz does not contain any .info.yml files.

How do I properly install HP5 on Drupal? Please, help.

Thank you.

Hi Adrian!

There is no H5P plugin for Drupal 9. Someone would have to port the version for Drupal 8 first. The source code is openly available to allow that.

Best,

Oliver

Hi Oliver!

Sorry, I forgot to answer to your reply. Thanks! I installed Drupal 8 and it works perfectly there.

Good to know!

There seem to be a couple of patches circulating in the Drupal community that allow to run H5P as well as I learned recently. The H5P core team will review those and see if they recommend them for use keeping future H5P core development in mind (https://h5ptechnology.atlassian.net/browse/HFP-3135).

Looking at https://h5ptechnology.atlassian.net/browse/HFP-3135 it seems that there is some hope that we may see a Drupal 9 ready H5P version soon'ish...

I can see the git repo here:
https://git.drupalcode.org/issue/h5p-3150110/-/tree/3150110-drupal-9-rea...

I guess my question is whether once the project (H5P) accepts the supplied patches as ready how long does it take for the updated code to appear in the Drupal codebase so that we can update our Drupal 8.9 instance via Composer to have a Drupal 9 ready H5P install?

Cheers!
