Adobe Flash Being Phased Out

Forums:
I recently started using H5P more heavily, but I'm worried about what the removal of Adobe Flash means for the activities I've created, especially since I've used many types. How do I ensure everything keeps working after December 2020? I'm not super techie so if I need to change the embed codes (that's how I'm inserting them into Wordpress), I don't know how to do that.

Hi Ruthie,
H5P does not use Flash, so you don't have to worry about this.

Thank you for your fast reply
Thank you for your fast reply! Are you sure the Course Presentation doesn't use flash? When I was loading a page I was editing, it said right click to run flash. I just want to make sure that the one activity will work.

Thanks for your quick reply!
Thanks for your quick reply! I ask because when I was loading a page with a Course Presentation activity, it said right click to use flash. So I hope that activity will still work when flash is gone.

Hi Ruthie!
H5P is completely Flash-free. It was actually developed as a reaction to Flash becoming obsolete.

One of my users reports H5P uses Flash
Hello,
One of the users of my H5P interactive videos reports he's not able to play them because they use Flash.
Please see the attached picture.
Thanks!

Reasons for an interactive video not to work
Thanks for your reply. Please see the new screenshot I've attached. The user who sent me that image is not able to play an interactive video and gets a "video format not supported" message.
I can play it with no problem on my end. Any reasons beyond Flash that could explain why an interactive video displays such message?

Hi!
That message actually is given you by the browser, not H5P, because H5P uses the browsers' video playing capabilities. If a browser doesn't support the video format that you used for the video, then users will get that message.
Best,
Oliver
