"Waiting for Javascript..." error

My institution upgraded to Moodle 3.11.6+ (Build: 20220318) in fall 2021. Since then, everything has been working fine.

I am the first to use H5P.

  • Using the H5P plugin, I get a "Waiting for Javascipt..." error (see attached).
  • Using the Moodle core H5P, I get the the circle (see attached).

This error is independent of what type of content I try to create.

I uploaded the 'Smoothie' interactive video example, and still get the "Waiting for Javascript..." error.

  • Platform and version number: Moodle 3.11.6+ (Build: 20220318)
  • Mobile or Desktop: Desktop running Windows 7 Pro
  • Browser: Firefox and Opera give exactly the same error
  • H5P plugin version
  • H5P content type and version: I have tried creating several. All give the same error.
  • Any browser console errors: no
  • Any PHP errors: PHP 7.4.3; No errors. I can give full configuration if requested.

(I am not IT, but have admin access.)

Your assistance getting this working would be greatly appreciated!

Summary:
"Waiting for Javascript..." error.

Hi RogueAgent,

You may get an answer in this forum however I think it is better to also post this in Moodle's forum. The Moodle core integration of H5P was not developed by the H5P core team and you may get an answer faster there.

I'd assume that there's already a thread on the moodle forums on this issue that has not been linked here.

1. This is impacting both H5P plugin and and H5P core implementation.

2. There have been several threads, but no resolution, so I started another thread. That thread might have identified the problem.

Attached are the images of the error messages in the Browser console. Both the H5P plugin and core implementations are failing in a similar way. Both return the error, "H5PEditor is not defined" (See Capture 1 and Capture 2, attached.)

This very likely is being caused by the Syntax error in the HTML source code (see temp - H5P error.jpg).

It appears that the code Piwik injected is throwing off H5P. I have asked IT about it, but they have yet to get back to me.

Any suggestions?

Thx
