Course Presentation and screen reader translations

Hi, first time posting, sorry if this is not the right place to post.

After almost 5 months designing a course presentation for moodle I encountered that not all strings on Course Presentation are translatable in order to make it accessible through a screen reader.

I found Course Presentation is fully accessible through a screen reader, but only in English language.

For example:

  • Text element and "display as button". The popup, which has a "close" button such as:
<div role="button" tabindex="0" class="h5p-close-popup" title="Close"></div>

is read as "Close" in all languages

  • Go to slide element. The element generates an <a> such as:
<a href="#" class="h5p-press-to-go h5p-visible" tabindex="0" title="Go to slide TRANSLATED STRING"></a>

and there is no way of translating that "Go to slide" or even getting rid of it so the translated string would be the only title.

I found no way of translating those strings, even though there are multiple string translations, but not any of those.

Am I missing something? Or is this something that could be added as a feature in order to make it accessible in all languages.

Thanks for your time.

Hi GAntich,

You are correct not all fields/elements can be translated. Thank you for pointing this out and for contributing your ideas on how to make H5P better! With the H5P supporter program the H5P community can now vote for and fund the top voted H5P features. Also there are developers in the community who every now and then work on a feature they find interesting or useful. You can also help by developing or help (crowd) fund the development of this feature.
