Game Map - unable to complete the stage

When activating Surface Mode in a Course Presentation it disables the ability to access the Summary Slide.

If you do not access the Summary Slide within a Game Map stage (where there would normally be a Summary Slide*) the stage does not register as completed.

*Course Presentations including information content only do not cause any completion issues, it's only Course Presentations with questions that then form part of the Summary Slide.

You could argue whether that's an issue with GameMap or Course Presentation. I'd go with the latter :-)

All content types using Course Presentation would naturally wait for Course Presentations "completed" xAPI statement to learn when the user finished. As you correctly point out, Course Presentation does not send that xAPI statement when it is in Active Surface mode.

It's not that you could not come up with a workaround for this problem in GameMap, I just argue that it makes more sense to change the behavior in Course Presentation instead of applying workarounds in every other content type that wants to use Course Presentation in a similar way.

And let's anticipate the issue with that: In active surface mode, it is not clear when the exercise could be considered completed, because depending on the navigation that you apply, any slide could be the "last" slide.

So, when would you consider a Course Presentation to be completed, so scores could be safely emitted? Please don't only think of your use case, also think about others might use Course Presentation. Also consider edge cases like one slide only, with and without any exercises.
