Data Privacy (e.g. EU-DSVGO)

Dear All,

I am trying to figure out, whether the installation of H5P (e.g. using a moodle or drupal module) will create any privacy issues. Does the module

  • (a) save any personal data or data contected to a person and
  • (b) does the module communicate such data with any third party, even if directly installed on moodle or drupal using the mentioned modules.

I would highly appreciate any answers or clarifications, as this is currently holding us back from installing the module on a larger moodle platfrom. There are mentions of privacy issues on the moodle portal, but they do not seem very relevant - as it can be deactivated and is anonymous anyways (which then is not personal data anymore).

It says:

"Potential privacy issues

The plugin is set up to automatically download content types and provide anonymous usage data which can be disabled through settings."

Hi Christian,

Just to answer your questions:

a) The only data that is saved that is connected to a user is how many content types he/she has created. Nothing else.

b) Only if reporting is turned on (it's off by default) does it communicate to H5P.org. We do not distribute the data to third parties.

We place a lot of emphasis on user privacy and all the data that we do collect to improve the user experience is completely anonymized.

Feel free to read more about how we track data here:
