instant feedback for free text entry in course presentation

Ok Making some basic content and a lot of our content is formative and we want free text to a question. This part is easy. Now I want to show the model answer on the same page, but there seems to be no option to do this. A pop up or modal or even a button that says check your answer is what I'm looking for. Any ideas. The closest I got was make a single answer multi choice with feedback but this really sucks as you get to check buttons

Hi Scott,

Have you tried using Essay? It lets you a free text activity as well as an option to have keywords for instant feedback.

Yes I have but we are not interested in single questions but rather multiple questions using course presentation and column. Plus we are trying to use this using branching. So the essay question will not work unless it is implemented into the branching and or course presentation. Thanks for your reply though

Hi Scott,

The plan to include Essay in Column is already underway although I am not sure when the core team will be able to review the code necessary for this to work. This forum thread has been keeping in tabs with the development of this particular project.

With regards to Course Presentation and Branching Scenario I am not sure if there are plans to include Essay in them.

Thanks BV52, good to know things are progressing. We like H5P however at present its difficult to make formative learning objects without the free text and show model answer function. We are pleased that the branching question type has been developed. At present we are still stuck with embedding questions into moodle quizzes and ideally we would just like it all in H5P. we wait and hope. thanks again
