Memory game: Number of cards

Under "Behavioral Settings", there is an option to restrict the number of cards used. According to the instructions, if one adds a number greater than 2, it will choose random cards from the list of cards. I have tried it several times, adding it as an embed through code and as an H5P shortcut. It always shows the full list of cards not the smaller set of 16 I want.

Any suggestions to get it to limit the number of cards to the number added in the field?

I am unable to reproduce the issue that you described above. In order to give your bug report the best chance of getting answered, please include the following information:

  1. Steps to recreate the bug
  2. Platform you're using: Drupal, Wordpress, Moodle (version number would be helpful as well)
  3. Mobile or Desktop
  4. Browser: Chrome, Firefox, Safari etc
  5. H5P plugin version
  6. H5P content type version
  7. Screenshots if it's a visual problem
  8. How sets do you have in total?
  9. Please provide a sample H5P so that we can test it.

The more information you provide, the quicker the community will be able to fix it and the quicker you'll have a working solution!

Apologies. I did see the list above, but given the nature of the issue didn't think I should include.

  1. Steps to recreate the bug = Enter any number larger than 2 under the Behavioral Settings options in Memory Game. It will not accept this limit and instead displays the entire set.
  2. Wordpress 4.9.1
  3. Laptop
  4. Browser: Chrome 63.03239.84, Firefox 57.0.3
  5. H5P plugin version 1.10.0
  6. H5P content type version - Memory Game

  8. How sets do you have in total? - Not sure what this means.... Just in case it refers to Memory Game specifically, I have 18 sets or 36 cards to match.
  9. However, the entire set of cards displays.]

Hi peg,

Thank you for the additional information and the screencast. I tried reproducing the issue in my Wordpress and it is working as designed.

The video shows that you set the activity to 10 sets of cards and once saved it did show 10 sets of cards. The initial screenshot showed 16 sets does it not work on 16 sets and only works for 10? 

The website that you provided throws an error message "content is unavailable", embedding it doesn't help as well and I get a blank frame.

It would be a great help if you can download and attach the H5P here.

Hi Peg and BV52,

late to the party, but I ran into the original problem today and thought my answer could save some people hassles. Solution:

If you want your game to display 16 cards, you must enter 8 into the behavioral field. For any other number of desired cards, accordingly, number divided by 2.

The problem is the wrong wording of "Number of cards to use" in the behavioural settings. It should be reworded as "Number of pairs of cards to use"!
