In House training attendance module

Hi all

I work a lot with blended learning but the data about face to face and online lives in seperate places, I would love to be able to use the H5P to record attendance (linked to the xAPI attended verb as well). Having their work from f2f in the same place as their online activity could provide teachers and trainers a more copmlete picture of the learning. Would this be easy or difficult to achieve? If this is not a really big project I would be happy to get a developer to do this.

Hi pseng,

I not sure I follow what you are asking. Are you pertaining to using H5P as some sort of attendance tracker? Or you will use it to provide e-learning modules to students?

Hi

Yes, I was thinking of an attendance tracker, when they come to a workshop they would track attendance. This would log there attendance in the LRS with their later H5P activities in e-learning. I hopw this makes sense.

Hi pseng!

That's a very interesting thought IMHO! I don't see how H5P could be used for tracking attendance right now, but it should be fairly easy to write a generic xAPI trigger content type that might be used for that -- something like you define the verb, a password or IP range for limiting access from the outside, maybe some extra xAPI fields in the editor and it get's triggered when someone pushes a button in the front end. That would be a nice "first content type" for someone who wants to start coding for H5P. A more sophisticated content type might also support audience response features and maybe more.

Best,

Oliver

Hi pseng,

I agree with Otacke that this is very interesting. Thanks a lot for contributing your ideas on how to make H5P better! We’re now working on something called the H5P supporter program allowing the H5P community to vote for and fund the top voted H5P features. Also there are developers in the community who every now and then works on a feature they find interesting or useful. The good thing about H5P is that it is open source so if you have access to a developer they can help with this project. A good starting point is this documentation.

Thanks, I like the idea of the audience response feature. I am going to try and build the attendance based on the idea of push a button and send the statement. this will be my first content development
