Show Bookmarks on start (Wordpress)

Hello,

I am trying to include H5P on my wordpress homepage and want to start with bookmarks menu open. When I am using the H5P homepage to create an interactive video I have the ability to enable the menu-button "Start with bookmarks menu open", but wordpress doesn't have the option. Can you tell me how I can achieve this?

Welcome to H5P!

I'm not really sure I follow what you mean but I will try to answer your question as best as I can :-) .

The bookmarks in Interactive video is intended to be used inside the video and not to be confused with links to other sites/pages.

If you are pertaining to use the IV as an object in your site you need to install H5P in Wordpress. This documentationcan serve as a guide.

I hope I answered your question if you meant something else don't hesitate to comment on this thread.

thank you very much for your reply, but unfortunately it's not what I meant :)

I installed H5P in wordpress and my interactive videos are working well. What I am trying to achieve is that the bookmark-list of a video is expanded at the start, so the user can see the available bookmarks I added without selecting the bookmark-icon. When I am using the h5p.org page to create interactive videos I have the ability to select this option in the menu, but when I am using the h5p-plugin in wordpress this option is not available.

Thank tou for clarifying that. In order to give your question the best chance of getting answered, please include the following information:

  1. Detailed steps to reproduce the bug (exactly how and when did it happen)
  2. Platform and version number. E.g. Drupal, Wordpress, Moodle.
  3. Mobile or Desktop
  4. Browser: Chrome, Firefox, Safari etc
  5. H5P plugin version
  6. H5P content type and version (if a content type was used), and a sample URL or attached H5P.
  7. Any browser console errors
  8. Any PHP errors
  9. Screenshots of the behavioural settings

The more information you provide, the quicker the community will be able to fix it and the quicker you'll have a working solution!

Hi,

actually there are no bugs or errors att all, but I am using Wordpress 4.9.4 with H5P Version 1.10.1.

I want to show the list of the available bookmarks at the beginning of every video, so the user dosen't have to click the bookmark-icon.

Hi huerse,

Sorry I failed to mention that the bookmarks is working on my end and we have the exact same version of WP and H5P. You mentioned on your first post that you don't have the option in Wordpress. Can you please upload the attached H5P to WP and save the content. Then restart WP and check if the option shows.

I am really sorry, I think we are not on the same page :) 

H5P and wordpress is working like a charme, the bookmarks are also working.  But using wordpress I don't have the option to start the video with the bookmarks menu open like on the h5p.org page.

I am looking for a shortcode that enables this feature in wordpress :)

Hi huerse, 

Sorry let's start over again. In your screenshot the "Start with bookmarks menu open" I assume is from H5P.org and you mentioned that this is missing in WP, am I correct? I clarifying this because by default from the version that you have it is enabled (Please see screenshots). For this reason I suggested to upload the content I provided. This could be an issue with a missing component in your libraries that shows the option, uploading the content with the option enable should (if my theory is correct) rectify the issue.

thank you very much for your help and your time :) 

I've installed your .h5p file and now it's working, but I think I've found a bug. It's only working when I change the sites language to english, when I am using my native language (german) it's not showing the menu. Do you know how I can change that?

Hi huerse,

I checked Wordpress in German and you are correct the option is missing the correct label (see screenshot). The first option "Zeige den Button, um 10 Sekunden zurück zu springen" seems to be the option for showing the bookmarks. If you are seeing the same thing on your end I suggest you test it by enabling that option. I filed a bug report and you follow it here. Otacke was kind enough to suggest "Mit geöffnetem Lesezeichenmenü starten" for the option.
