error uploading h5p video file

Hi,

I made an interactive video with a moodle plugin. I downloaded it and tried uploading it again here, at h5p.org to edit it and use it in a different context. But I got this error message:

The H5P file could not be uploaded
An unexpected error occured. Check your server error log for more details.

The same happens the other way around, when I make an interactive video here and try to upload it in Moodle, with the plugin.

I work in firefox (65.0.1), but tried it in Chrome (61.0.3163.100) as well. I don't know the version of the plugin.

Thanks for any support you can give me!

Hi Suus25,

If I understood the issue correctly you cannot upload an IV into H5P.org if it was created in Moodle and vice versa. Have you tried uploading the content created in Moodle to Moodle again or one created in H5P.org back into H5P.org? Also can you please attach a sample H5P one created in Moodle andone created here so that we can check.

Hi BV52,

That is correct.

I tried uploading the IV made in Moodle with my original post, but it was too big (25 MB). Which may explain my initial problem, although that's not the message I got when I tried uploading it for editing, as I posted earlier. But it doesn't explain why it's not working the other way around, uploading a h5p.org IV into a moodle plugin? Or does it?The Moodle plugin should be able to handle bigger file sizes?

I deleted the project I made in h5p.org which I tried uploading in the Moodle plugin. And I can't tell where I made the downloaded h5p projects stored locally on my laptop, so that's not very helpful I'm afraid.

Thanks for your reply,

Suus25

Hi BV52,

You understood correctly.

I tried uploading the IV here with my original post, but it was too big (25 MB). This may also explain why I can't upload it for editing, but that is not the error message I got. And it doesn't explain why I can't upload a h5p project in moodle. The moodle pluging should be able to handle large file sizes, right?

I deleted the project once I discovered I couldn't use it in the Moodle environment, and had to start over anyway. And I don't know which of the locally stored projects on my laptop were made in h5p.org, so that's not very helpful I'm afraid.

Hope you can help me based on this little information :(

Thanks,

Suus25

Hi Suus25,

The information you have provided regarding the file size hit the mark. The maximum file size across site is 16 MB. I'll file a report to update the message in the site.

The flipside of the issue I'm not really sure, can you check if you have errors in the console (CTRL+SHIFT+J in Chrome).

Hi BV25,

I tried finding an error message that made sense on this subject, but couldn't find any. But then again, I don't really know what to look for ... This is one step too technical for me, I'm afraid. But in the future, I'll just make my IV on the platform where I want to use it.

Thanks for your help!

Hi Anna,

I have a few questions that may help diagnose your concern:

 1. Where are did you download the H5P file?
 2. Where are you uploading it.
 3. Detailed steps to reproduce the bug (exactly how and when did it happen)
 4. Any browser console errors

Hi BV,

1 I downloaded the file from an Open Educational Resources site (OER)

2.I am trying to upload it on my h5p.org account

3. I followed the steps mentioned in the posted forum and even the diy tutorial in youtube on how to reuse interactive content. I tried to upload the file using google chrome browser but everytime the file is uploaded and about to use, the system message appear, it seems that the h5p.org website doesnt want to accept such activity.

Please enlighten and any recommendations and support will be highly appreciated.

Thanks,

Anna

Hi BV,
Thank you for the prompt response.

1. I downloaded the H5P file from and Open Educational Resources site
2. I am trying to reuse its content by uploading in my H5P.org account
3-4 I looked for a diy tutorial in youtube and some of your responses in the forum section on how to reuse interactive content and Im pretty sure i followed every steps all the way through. I used the google chrome browser last night and every time the file is uploaded and about to use, the system error always appear. It seems that the H5P website does not want to accept the activity.

I do hope those little informations are helpful enough.

Much thanks,
Anna

Hi Anna,

Would you mind uploading a sample content that is having this issue.

Hi BV, Im sorry, I cant even attached the file. System message says request entity too large. Maybe that is the same reason why I cant upload it in my h5p content. Tnx

Hi Anna,

If the file is more than 16MB then you cannot upload it in H5P.org. This is to make sure that users are using the site as it was intended and that is as a test site.
