REAL FEEDBACK for ALL ACTIVITIES
Hi
I'm using Moodle to teach french langage and I'm really upset about the feedback possibilities in all activities. WHY is not THE priority of developpers? I don't need new activities, I need real possibilities of feedback inside the activities.
To teach correctly something, we need to show the rules and then create exercises for students training. And it's with the exercise that the student can practice, remember the rules and think about his mistakes. Like teacher, I think WE NEED TO EXPLAIN THE ANSWER at this moment, just after EVERY QUESTION of an exercise. So, when I create an activity, I need some BIG PLACE which appear AFTER the exercise to explain every failure, every mistake.
Well, concretely, I dream about a specific WINDOW who appear next to every answer and where I can explain why the student made a mistake. I need space because maybe I will remember a rule, with examples, so with other colors, or bigger caracters, or a picture. If we are in a "mark the words", I need this for every good words or bad words. If we are in "flascards", I need this for every picture, just next to the good answer who appear after. In a "multiple choice", I need this for every answer possible, to explain why the second or the third sentence is the good one....
And please, don't tell me that already exist, it's false. Sometimes we can put a little sentence like resume for all the activity, but it's small, I can't transform nothing, I can't explain details or exceptions... this is no sense!!!! This is not a real place for a good feedback. Really, I don't understand if I'm the only guy who want to explain their mistakes to the students... it's the most important thing to do when we teach with a computer.
I hope some day I could give a really good feedback to my students. For now I'm obligated to create a new "page" with restriction (the student need to finish the activity to see that page). In this page I try to explain every answer of the activity, with screen captures... but it's a bad solution, it's not efficient and I'm exhausting. Please, I need help with this. Thank you.

Hi François!
Bonjour François!
1.- Since you are using Moodle and you are wanting to provide useful feedback to your students, why don't you use the Quiz activity, which offers a large number of question types, most of them with great feedback facilities? I am the author of a Moodle question type, Regular expression short answer, which gives you access to a powerful system for analyzing the student's answers with the aim of providing more relevant immediate feedback.
2.- When you regret the lack of feedback facilities in regular H5P activities, I think you exagerate. Of course the feedback possibilities are limited, but have you tried, for example https://h5p.org/tutorial-advanced-fill-in-the-blanks?
Hope that helps,

Seriously?!
Thank you for respond, but that don't help me.
1. " most of them with great feedback facilities"... It's a joke?! Except for "Multiple choice", there is nothing more interesting in Quiz activity about feedback. And if you're considering THAT (picture down) like a "great feedback", I insist, it's USELESS because we can't write a lot and we can't transform nothing and we can't organize the text and this text appear on a very bad way for reading... I'm exhausting to repeat what is a great feedback, not just for me, above all my students.
2. I can't use your plugin. I'm not independant, I work in a french institute from Ministry, with state rules, so we're not autorized to change the system like we want. We just can use the official Moodle system, we can't download others plugin. So my message is for Moodle developpers, and I think it's not too much to ask them, because feedback is really important.
3. "Advanced fill in the blanks" don't exist in my list, I just can use "Fill in the blanks" with no more feedback facilities. I can see new activities like "Sort the paragraph" but not this one.
4. I tried, like a conscientious teacher, to explain what I need. What I need don't exist for now, and it's a shame. Hope some teachers can understand me.

Hi François,
Thank you for contributing your ideas on how to make H5P better! With the H5P supporter program the H5P community can now vote for and fund the top voted H5P features. Also there are developers in the community who every now and then work on a feature they find interesting or useful. You can also help by developing or help (crowd) fund the development of this feature.

Hi François!
I suggest you re-post your remarks about feedback (or lack of) on the French Moodle forum at https://moodle.org/course/view.php?id=20 where we can discuss this more at length in French. On that Moodle forum you will be able to send me a PM if you want.
To install "Advanced fill in the blanks" you can download it from this page: https://h5p.org/advanced-fill-the-blanks

Actually, "Advanced fill the blanks" isn't included in the system yet. We can read on the H5P site : "Advanced Fill in the Blanks is a new content type from an external developer. It also has a very advanced authoring tool. We want to review user feedback and see that it is maintained by the author before adding it." https://documentation.h5p.com/content/1290591871936510658
And like I already explained, where I work they don't want to download a plugin without the H5P autorization.

Le forum Moodle francophone me semble être le meilleur endroit pour poursuivre cette discussion (si tu le souhaites).
The French Moodle forum seems to me to be the best place to continue this discussion (if you wish).
