Interactive Book takes jumps page to take focus

We have been using the Interactive book content type at our institution for some time. These books are usually embedded into Blackboard page content. Recently, we have noticed that they are taking the focus of the page and "jumping' to the interactive book, making navigating content a chore for our students. Is anyone else experiencing this problem?

I am wondering if the original developer could change this setting back to what it was as this has created quite a logistical headache for us.

Summary:
Remove page focus behaviour in iframe
Content types:

Bump

I wonder if this has to do with the update on 2023-01-16?

I am experiencing this same issue with interactive books. Tested in Brightspace and Pressbooks with multiple objects on various pages.

Hello,

i am experiencing the same behavior with "virtual tour 360" on Moodle 4.1 (tried on 4.3 and same problem) : the automatic focus on the H5P scrolls the page down and hides the starting content of the page.
As this issue have been written one year ago, is there a solution somewhere ?

Hi lmcknight,

Would you mind providing some additional information:

  1. Are you using H5P.com to host your content
  2. If the answer to 1 is yes, are you embedding the content using the LTI integration or using the embed code
  3. If the answer to 1 is no, where are you hosting your contents?

Edit: I am unable to reproduce this issue, using the latest version of IB. The content is hosted in H5P.com, inserted both using LTI and embed. I have trued this in BB, Canvas, Brightspace and Moodle.

Hi,

Both. I initially encountered the issue with H5P objects hosted in a Pressbook. I have since tried with H5P objects hosted on H5P.com using the LTI integration in our LMS (Brightspace). Issue occurs in both instances.

However, using the embed code does not cause the issue.

Hi lmcknight,

I'd suggest that you send an email directly to H5P support at [email protected].

Hi lmcknight,

I just retested this and I was able to reproduce the issue. I have filed a bug report so that our developers can check.

The documentation tool is now doing too, if we enable save progress.

Yes it is happening in H5P.com hosted content. Embedded in Blackboard LMS using the LTI.

I note that a fix is already in the works and should be in the March update. Thanks for escalating this.

Hi everyone

I have the same issue with H5P content. Presentations, interactive video, etc. Anywhere there are images involved, the iframe goes funny and has a little dance party on the page. I see talk about a March update/fix-will this automatically pull through to content already created, or will content need to be remade post-March update?

Hi Elle Olivier Hubble,

There is no need to recreate the content, if you are self hosting using the H5P plugin you just need to update the content types. On the other hand if you are using H5P.com to host your content you don't need to do anything since the update is done by our developers.

Hello,
i am experiencing the same problem, here, with the "virtual tour 360" H5P, when it is placed low in a moodle page (i tried with 4.1 and 4.3 moodle versions) : the focus automatically goes on the H5P, scrolling down the page, hiding the start of the page.

I see you was talking about this problem 1 year ago. Is there a solution since ?

This issue has had a ticket for 3 years now (https://h5ptechnology.atlassian.net/browse/HFP-3218), a fix has been proposed but not dealt with yet by H5P Group.

Why in the world would they not apply the fix, it makes the difference between being able to use this beautiful application and not?

That's something that H5P Group would need to answer. I assume that giving higher priorities to other issues might be the answer, combined with insufficient developer capacity.

We are using Moodle 3.9, have updated to the latest version of H5P. Unfortunately the Interactive Book is bouncing with each click.
