Grid unuseable and unsolveable

Moin,

Unfortunately, the word search puzzle is unsolvable at the moment. If the words to be solved are close to the edge of the puzzle, the controlling mouse/mouse pointer moves out of the field in which the puzzle lies and can therefore no longer influence the angle of the solution field. H5P attached. This may be due to the version used by the manufacturers. If this is the case, I would still be grateful for a hint.

Greetings villon

Moin,

Moin,
I have now solved this myself by creating the exercise again on lumi education and using the word list from the exercise that didn't work. However, this doesn't really bring me any closer to solving the problem, which I think is a shame.
Greetings villon

"Find the Words" was created by Jithin Thankachan. Unfortunately, he doesn't maintain that content type anymore.

Hello Oliver,
First of all, thank you for your answer.
This is probably a problem that will not be solved unless someone can be found to continue to maintain this type of content. There is much debate about the usefulness of "find the words" or in German "Suchsel", but in any case it is a good pastime for my students.
In this context, I wonder if there are any approaches to dealing with orphaned projects in general. Do they just let them die? Does anyone make an effort to continue looking after them? This is perhaps a little too unclear due to my lack of knowledge.

Greetings villon

Hi villon,

Usually these content types are not further developed. No more additional features are added from our developers however contributed features may still be accepted. We may still work on major bugs , i.e. the issue that you reported but I haven't tested this (will test tomorrow). Minor bugs that does not cause the content to be unsusable will most likely not worked on by the core team.

Hi!

I wonder if there are any approaches to dealing with orphaned projects in general.

In general, someone takes over the mantle of an open source project, or it is frozen in time.

I think BV already covered the H5P related handling.

H5P content types are very similar to plugins for moodle or WordPress (the handling for developers/maintainers is supposed to become the same, too) - and nobody is asking moodleHQ or Automattic to take over responsibility for 3rd party plugins either.

Best,

Oliver

Hi Villon,

Does this happen on a specific browser or device. I was able to use your content without any issues, using the H5P plugin in Moodle through Google Chrome on a Windows desktop.

Hi Villon,

Thank you for the information. My best guess would be it may have something to do with the theme that you are using or another plugin in your platform.
