Submitting Answers Partially Crashes Interactive Video Playback

Interactive videos on our Moodle 4.1 instance will, after submitting some answers, crash the interactive elements of the video player and restart the video at the point in that answers were submitted.  We host the majority of our video content on Panopto and can't seem to replicate it using a YouTube video, and all the videos that have seen a report of this issue were generally over 20 minutes long.

We're on the latest version of the H5P Plugin.  Any video can seem to cause this issue, and it causes our learners to not be able to progress partially through heavy video modules, which in turn creates a burden on our support team given that we have to handle an issue that we're not able to really solve.

Here's a recording of the issue:

It is not browser-based or a library issue.

Hi qpeiffe,

Would it be possible to upload a copy of your content or access to your site (student acces will do). Judging from the video it seems to be related to the "Save Content State" feature. However I am unable to reproduce the same issue using a content that I created or other interactive videos.

Thanks BV—I've uploaded my H5P file to the original post and this comment.

Hi qpeiffe,

I was able to reproduce the issue using your content and have reported this directly to our developers. You can follow the progress here: https://h5ptechnology.atlassian.net/browse/HFP-3796

BV thank you so much!!

Hi BV, sorry to follow up.  I wanted to know if there was any opportunity for a dev to take a look at this issue, or if there were any updates.  Best, Q

Hi Q,

I don't think this has been prioritized yet. You can check the ticket I mentioned above for any updates. I will also follow up with the dev team.

Hi BV, I wanted to check in and see if any action has been taken on this bug and whether we may see a resolution from the development team on this!

I'll also be opening a bug report with the H5P Moodle plugin.

Hi Q,

I have been testing the content that I used to report this issue and I am unable to reproduce the problem anymore. I am assuming that the issue may inadvertently been resolved by another update. You might just need to update the content type libraries.

-BV

We'll look into updating the content libraries now.  As an additional question, would this resolve the issue for existing H5P interactive videos embedded in spaces, or would we need to create new ones from scratch to ensure they use the updated library?

Thanks again for your diligence here, I really appreciate it.

Hi Q,

To update the libraries of the contents that were previously created, you need to go to Site administration -> Pluugins -> H5P Libraries. Once there under the actions column you will see a green button, clicking on these buttonw will update the libraries of those contents.
