Any planned work regarding image caching?

Some images when using the course presentation content type are loaded quite slowly.

Would it be possible to support image styles in Drupal?

Yeah, we have the cropping feature and plan on using it to make perfectly sized images as well. Was that what you meant? Probably will take some time for us to get there though. A lot of work in the backlog.
