Does the speech recognition work on Android devices, too, which use Google Chrome mobile?

I know it won't work on iOS.

Does anyone know what the content "Audio recorder" is for? You can record audio through your device. What you record, however, does not seem to be available for anyone but yourself. How is it applicable in a teaching forum?
