Retry & Solution buttons

I have created a Question Set comprising several Multiple Choice tasks and one Fill in the blanks task. I have deactivated the Retry and Show Solution buttons because the Question Set is a test and students shouldn't be allowed to see the solutions and redo the answers.

When the questions are only Multiple Choice, it works perfectly, just showing the final score. However, as soon as I add the Fill in the blanks exercise, the Retry and Show Solution buttons appear. When I create the same Fill in the blanks exercise, not as part of a Question Set and with the same settings, no Retry and Show Solution buttons appear.

Can anyone tell me what I need to do to remove these buttons?

Do you mean to diagnose the problem and suggest a solution?

Hi interlanguser, 

That's the plan :-) .  Although it is quite unusual that you can disable both buttons since afaik this is a funtion that is not available.  Not unless you make changes to the codes.
