Statement style Q in Interactive Video not Feeding to Moodle Gradebook Correctly on Retry

jessica.oreilly's picture

Hi there,

We've created an interactive video which requires students to submit 100% correct responses in order to move on to subsequent course items. In the Moodle gradebook, students who answer a "statement" style question incorrectly on the first attempt, but then correctly on subsequent attempts, retain a mark of zero on that question. It's as if the first attempt is the only that feeds to the Moodle gradebook. This is only happening for this particular question type, all others seem to be functioning fine.

Is this a known issue? Is there a setting that we are missing? Any help appreciated.

Hi Jessica,

The statement content is designed to keep the initial score. Afaik it is the only content were you can keep answering the question until you get all the answers correctly without the need to click on a retry button.

Thanks BV52. This is good to know, as the faculty member was confused / concerned. I'll advise that should he wish for students to receive a perfect score after multiple attempts, statement-style questions aren't the best option.
