H5P Content Showing for Teacher but not Students

Hi guys,

I have a H5P activity in a moodle course (simple role over) and users with a teacher role can see/use it, but student roles see "You do not have access to this content. Try logging in."

I have ensured that the H5P permissions are the same for both roles, but this doesn't seem to help. Any ideas??

Hi,
I assume this is embedded content. Where is the content embedded and where is the original content ? If the original content is within a course the user must be logged in and have access to that course in order to view the content. You can configure the access rights for the content so that anyone can view it without being logged in to the course if you have embedded the content on for instance the front page of your Moodle page.

Hope that helps you resolve this. Best regards, Thomas

Hi,

Yes, we have the original content on the same page as the embedded one (though it is hidden to prevent confusion).

How would I configure the access rights? Sorry if that is an obvious thing but I've just picked this up from an old colleague!

Thanks!

Hi,
If the original content is hidden from the student, the embedded content will also be hidden from the student. Hiding content is a Moodle functionality, you can read more about it at their stealth activities page. I believe you can choose the "Make available but not shown on course page" in order to make the embedded content available, but not showing the original content. However I have not tried this, you'll just have to do some experimenting to see what works for you.

Best regards, Thomas
