Verification Code

Hi, 

We have integrated H5P in Blackboard Learn and added a placements for deep linking. After deploying an interactive H5P course presentation with True or False quizzing in a course, a colleague with lecturer access to the course attempted the quiz. For some reason, my colleague received an email that reads as "Someone is trying to get access to your H5P.com account within the organisation Charles Darwin University by using it via an LMS or publishing platform that haven't been used to access your account before. If this is you, copy the confirmation code below and paste it into the dialog in your LMS to allow access to your H5P.com account from the new platform". This email contains the verification code and it worked for my colleague. 

I have experienced this before once, but I could no longer replicate. 

I would like to understand what triggers the email verification code. Does it occur only for users with lecturer access in the Blackboard Learn course? Do students get this message as well? Do users receive this email only when accessing H5P content for the first time? 

Please enlighten me.

Thanks for your reply. What triggers the email verification though? The lecturer I work with said he received two verification codes because he accessed two H5P course presentations. For me, I only experienced it once despite creating and accessing multiple H5P.com contents deployed in our university LMS. Does H5P generate the code for users accessing H5P content for the first time? or for every single H5P content a user has never accessed before? I couldn't find any documentation or information about it online. Would be nice to understand the mechanism behind it.

Hi nijelratonel,

This only happens when a user visits h5p through LTI and the user's email is already connected to another user ID (on h5p.com). Typically this will happen if several LMSes with LTI are in use.

Hi Team, 

Getting the verification code window pop up (file attached), but no verification is coming to me email (not in the junk folder also), any ideas why this might be?
