Beginner with silly question
Hello. My district has just notified us that classroom teachers will be going to Canvas use either exclusively virtually or 2 days in the classroom and rest online. I am the PLC lead for world languages and we need to design our content for levels 1-3. H5P was recommended as a potential free (at least partially) resource, but as I am looking, I'm a little confused about what the free part is. I don't have any district funds to use, so am trying to figure out what I need to do add good, interactive content to our courses.
How do I use H5P for free or do I? Again, a novice question here, do I download what I create to have a copy that I then put in somewhere or does content stay in H5P, so if I do a free trial, does it all go away after 30 days or still accessible?
Thank you for humoring this newbie who is delving into unchartered territory for her.

Hi jencjenc!
If you use the service H5P.com, then you will have to pay. And yes, your content will not be accessible after the 30 day trial period. You'll have to download it before that ends.
If you use the software H5P, then you can install it on your own server, run it for free and keep everything on your own server, including content that you downloaded from e.g. H5P.com and uploaded to your server.
Best,

Thanks Oliver!
@jencjenc just to add to this there is an H5P.com documentation that tackles your contents concern: https://documentation.h5p.com/content/1290451852069151698

Hi, I want to create an Agamotto but when I "create content" there are not the full 44 types available but only 27. The Agamotto amongst others in missing. How to I get access to that?
Thanks for any ideas!

Hi Jessica,
To provide a best possible experience for new users and to ensure that people use H5P.org only for trying out H5P (we've had more traffic than our server can handle lately, ref also the warnings when you create content, embed content and view the content) we are experimenting with which content types should be available here.
Check the getting started page for information on how you can use all the content types and use H5P for real. We unfortunately are not able to provide free hosting, only free software :) Hopefully you'll consider supporting the H5P Core Team by using H5P.com.

Hi Basem!
That's rather a question to address to YouTube. Do they count video views when they are handled by using YouTube's iframe-embed-API? Do they include commercials in videos that are embedding using YouTube's iframe-embed-API?
Best,

Hi Oliver,
Many thanks for your reply.
It seems that I couldn't explain my question in an appropriate manner, I mean that I would like to know if it will be available to upload my created video via h5p on YouTube channel in free plan? Even to monetize it.
Thanks in advance.

Hi Basem,
You can't upload a content created in H5P to Yourube. SImply because it is not just a video anymore but it also includes other files that provides the interactivity.

Thank you BV for your reply.
So, this feature is not existing in h5p, because already there are many interactive videos on YouTube.
Thanks.

Hi Basem!
Maybe we have a different understanding of what an interactive video is - could you please point to one on YouTube?
