About tracking problems

We seem to expereince some issues with certain activities. Some students can see them finished in their progress bar, others cannot. Is this something to do with the browser? The activity completion is being set up and this is not the main problem, however I cannot find the solution for this. Any help?

Hi almugva,

In order to give your report the best chance of getting answered, please include the following information:

  1. Detailed steps to reproduce the bug (exactly how and when did it happen)
  2. Platform and version number. E.g. Drupal, Wordpress, Moodle.
  3. Mobile or Desktop
  4. Browser: Chrome, Firefox, Safari etc
  5. H5P plugin version
  6. H5P content type and version (if a content type was used), and a sample URL or attached H5P.
  7. Any browser console errors
  8. Any PHP errors
  9. Screenshots if it's a visual problem

The more information you provide, the quicker the community will be able to fix it and the quicker you'll have a working solution!

1. When completing the activity (Column activity with interactive video and drago and drop)

2. Moodle 3.4

3. Desktop

4. Any

5. No access to that info

Hi,
Sorry if this is too obvious, but could the reason that some are seeing it as completed and some not, be that some have completed the activity and others have not ?

For a "Column" activity to be marked as completed the student have to complete all questions within the Column, if the Column includes an Interactive Video this means that they must have watched the entire Interactive Video as well.

The browser they are using should not affect the completion criteria. If you're able to reproduce this consistently with a set of steps that would help immensely in tracking down what could be causing this.

Thanks, Thomas

Not a chance. They have completed them and I can see through the Moodle log that they have certainly repeated the same activity at least 3 times, with no success. I have spoken to other teachers in the section and they are having the same problem.

We have really tried everything, but still unsure on why this happens.

Best

Hi almugva, could you let us know which content types you used within course presentation? If you would like to share the content itself as a comment, it would help a lot with fixing the issue.

Thanks,

Tim

Hello,

Found this post and it very much matches the issues I am having. I have set content up as interactive video and have added a quiz question at the last second to ensure the whole video is watched before they get to answer the question (please bear in mind I am not using the summary component for this). We have completion tracking setup to complete when user recieves a grade regardless of whether they pass or not. However it is working for some students and not for some. We tested it ourselves with test users and were getting the same issue.

So the other important note we need to mention is we are using this with Totara, not sure if that makes a whole lot of difference.

Would be interesting to know if the original poster solved this issue?? any help would be very much appreciated.

Thank you

Shehzad

Hi Shehzad,

Totara is Moodle with added features so there shouldn't be any problems with that.

Would you mind providing a test content that we can check?

Thanks for your reply, would you like me to send you one of the videos or a login to test the content yourselves?

Hi Shehzad,

Both if possible. This helps isolate the issue between an H5P issue and a Moodle issue.

Also may I know the Moodle version?

Hi my issue is that my single choice set is not being tracked as "complete" despite answering all the questions correctly. I've set the activity to be completed if a passing grade is achieved. Hope someone can help,
