H5P Interactive Book

Hi Everyone,

One of our clients has been creating some large Interactive books (3-5GB), everything has been working well until a tipping point has been reached and someone edits the book, saves it and it will no longer display the content in the course.

Is there a maximum or safe working size for the H5P Interactive book?

Does it depend on hardware capability?

Are there any restrictions in a regular installation in php.ini, Config.ini or any other config files which would restrict the size of these books?

Appreciate your thoughts on this

Hi Ken,

There isn't an actual maximum size limit for creating contents. However you should consider splitting this content into multiple contents. Loading such a big file may cause issues depending on server capacity, hardware capacity etc.

Thanks for the feedback, we are doing exactly that, splitting up the books into smaller manageable learning parts. I did read one other comment in the forums, it said that if there were empty chapters in a book then the book will not display correctly? Is that still the case or has this been rectified in later releases of the Interactive book?

Hi Ken,

This should already been resolved. However, it really does not make sense to leave a chapter without any contents inside.

Hello!

We need our student to have the view of attempts like the one in the document attached here.

I'd like to know if you are already developing a solution, like course presentation and column, that could show this to our student.

It needs to be in: Interactive Book / My attempts / View report.

Hi Lôsangeles,

This feature is now available in H5P.com with Drill Down reports. A feature for students to see their own reports was released 2 weeks ago.
