Interactive Video and video controls
I might not be looking in the right place but i was wondering if we had a way to disable the Play button on Interactive videos. If not, then it's definitely a feature request :-)
Specifically, I have multiple videos where users are supposed to navigate using hotspots which I've set up to pause the video and wait for users to click on the relevant areas to jump back and forth to the corresponding timecodes. Basically creating a non-linear pick-a-path type experience.
But... if they simply click play, then the video carries on playing through the various segments. As a result, a) there's no need to investage/interact with what's on screen and b) nothing makes sense when played linearly.
Poking around a bit, I found some old posts asking for something similar and some responses pointing that some interactions can be set to "prevent skipping ahead" but that's not an option for Navigation Hotspot.
Any assistance/advice would be most welcome :-)

Hi PierreCMH,Prevent Skipping
Hi PierreCMH,
You can us a combination of Prevent Skipping forward and crossroads instead of navigation hotspots. This however will not stop the users from clicking play to just continue with the video as this feature is not available.

Is this feature going to be implemented?
I have to second this. In my scenario, the hotspot is the only option and during the usability testing with users I realized that the ability to click on the play button keeps the user concentrated only on the player and not on the actual navigation on screen.
Are there any news regarding implementing the feature for disabling the play button?
Thanks in advance!

Branching Scenario content type instead?
I may misunderstand, but it sounds like what the OP wants is really the Branching Scenario content type. No? It's basically a video player, without a play button, that stops and asks the users questions, and then displays the next part based on whatever the response was. It seems to me like the Interactive Video content type is mostly for a linear video that is designed to be watched straight through, with periodic stops to check for comprehension. Perhaps check out Branching Scenario.

Hi!
Hello,
Thanks, but it is not what I want. I don't think my scenario will work out that way. You can see an example, I've uploaded it: https://h5p.org/node/1420797
Click on Badges, the rest is empty, still working on it :) If you have a different suggestion how to implement this, I would be more than happy to hear.
It's in German, but I'm sure you'll be able to complete the task ;)
Best,
Tina
