Compatibility of activities created in / downloaded from h5p.com with WordPress plugin

Hello,

We have a number of users who develop H5P activities in h5p.com before uploading them to our site, which uses H5P's WordPress plugin. We've heard of a recent issue with this workflow where the upload fails with the error message:

"Validating h5p package failed. The system was unable to install the Dialog Cards component from the package, it requires a newer version of the H5P plugin. This site is currently running version 1.24, whereas the required version is 1.26 or higher. You should consider updating and then try again."

In this example, the error message appears when trying to upload a Dialog Cards activity downloaded from h5p.com. For context, the site is running Version 1.15.6 of H5P's WordPress plugin, the Dialog Cards content type is already installed in the H5P hub and the library Dialog Cards (1.9.7) is installed.

Since we're relying on the WP plugin, there doesn't appear to be an available update that allows for uploading these activities when they've been created by users in h5p.com, unless there's a solution we're overlooking.

The H5P activity types that we understand are affected by this are Dialog Cards and Quiz (Question Set). Until recently, it was possible to create / continue editing activities of these types on h5p.com, download them from there, and upload them to our site. Is this a known issue with the WP plugin limited to certain activity types or potentially more widespread? We're wondering if there are possible workarounds or solutions for this.

Thanks,

Thomas

Hi Thomas,

You need to update the H5P plugin in Wordpress for this to work. The most recent version is 1.15.7: https://wordpress.org/plugins/h5p/

Ah, I see you're right! Thanks for your response.
