3 new content types by NDLA

Forums:

There are more content types that your eye will meet here on h5p.org. I am not talking about the exclusives on H5P.com.

You may know mine already. But do you know these that NDLA sponsored and that you can use, too?

Thank you very much, Oliver, for letting us know about these great NDLA creations and sharing them here ! "Escape Room" is certainly a big step forward for teachers who aim at gamifying their content ; very playful content-type :) "Vocabulary drill" is straightforward and very efficient to train students on translating words from one language to another, but it can also be used to pratice on how to conjugate french verbs for instance.

I've also stumbled upon this content originally made by NDLA and tweaked by Joseph Rézeau : it is a "better" version of the H5P Timeline, because it is updated with the latest version of https://timeline.knightlab.com/ and features many improvements as the possibility to add our own local files in the timeline. A demo can be found here : https://www.rezeau.org/moodle/mod/h5pactivity/view.php?id=318 and a downloadable model here : https://www.rezeau.org/moodle/mod/h5pactivity/view.php?id=319.

Best,

Isabelle

Isabelle, thanks for mentioning my version of NDLA Timeline. Like most of my other hacked H5P contents I created it because I was not entirely satisfied with some of the original H5P NDLA Timeline content. It is not fundamentally different from the original NDLA version, which is much better than the original H5P Timeline. Hopefully the NDLA version will become available as an official H5P content and supersede the original H5P Timeline which dates back 10 years and has a long list of "requests for improvements".

(I was about to reply in french - it would have been easier and quicker - but it wouldn't be appropriate considering that this is an english-spoken forum. So I'll try my best but, as a former english teacher, you know how difficult it is for french people to speak in foreign languages... so my apologies in advance ;p)

Thanks for sharing this Timeline hack and making it public. I have downloaded some other contents that you have created, for instance your personal take on Mark The Words, which has some features I was interested in, and also your own version of Image Choice (adding the legend to images is indeed a great improvement to the content-type to really make it educational).

On a side note, as a Moddle / H5P user, how do you feel about D2L's takeover on H5P ?

The NDLA version of Timeline still has a bug that has not been fixed (pull request is pending though). That is why I didn't publish a demo content along the other content types.

And here I was, sure to have discovered a hidden gem you didn't know about... :D

I am pretty sure that I know all the content types that NDLA is working on :-D There are more even, but those are currently being re-written to replace an outdated component.
