Problems with H5P gamemaps, imported into Moodle
I have an issue from a client, using H5P with Moodle. They have created a H5P element externally, and uploaded it into Moodle.
The issue however, is that some of the data dissappear. The content of the 'dots' in the map, are gone when you try to edit it in Moodle.
This does not happen if I use the default gamemap from H5P. So it's not a general issue with the content type or with Moodle.
Any idea how to debug this further? I can see others have had a similar issue here: https://h5p.org/node/1533244
Environment details:
Moodle 5.0.2+ (Build: 20250906)
PHP Version 8.3.22
H5P Game map: 1.5.4
I have attached the file

Hei!
I could upload your file here without any issues, see https://h5p.org/node/1548223.
The reason why no paths (dots) are showing is because they are set to not be shown in the settings: Visual settings => Paths => "Display path" is not checked. Not a bug.
Best,
Oliver

Hi Oliver,
Thanks for looking into it. Unfortunately I sent the wrong file :D
Can you try the same with the attached file?

It could be a bug in Moodle, but I'm not sure? So I started here to see if I could figure it out.

I have attached the correct one now
The process I did was:
I suspect there is something wrong with this particular file. But I'm not an H5P expert so I'm not sure.
I have also uploaded it directly to here, where the 'dots' does not have content either.

Hi,
To me this looks normal. I uploaded this is Moodle as well (see SS1). If you are expecting to see all the dots (SS2) you need to change the settings in Behavioural settings -> Map -> Visibility range to "See all stages". If it is something else please refer to Oliver's link and provide some additional information.

This is the same issue
This is the same issue referenced a couple of days ago in https://h5p.org/node/1547751.
The solution is the same: Go to https://www.olivertacke.de/labs/2025/02/10/gamemap-1-4-is-out/ and download the example content file via the reuse button. Then upload that file to the moodle instance (as admin). That will install the latest 1.6 version of GameMap. And then the bug should be gone.

I just also uploaded your file to a moodle sandbox (https://sandbox.moodledemo.net) and tried to edit the content. That worked flawlessly. The stages all look fine.
Please provide a better bug report (cmp. https://snordian.de/2024/02/17/how-can-i-craft-an-effective-bug-report-f...) if you need further assistance.
