Table in "advanced fill the blanks"

Hello!
I created an advanced fill in the blancs element, where there are the blanks in a table. The problem is that the table has 8 columns.
The blanks take so much space (i think have so many "empty" characters reserved) that the result (the table ) is too wide.
My question is the following: is there a possibility, to make the blanks smaller? The right answers have maximum 6 characters, so there is no need, to have such wide blanks.
