Accessibility in Interactive Video

Hi,

According to the Accessibility of content types, the interactive video is accessible as is the drag and drop activity.

However, I'm struggling to control any of the in-video interactivity using the keyboard only. I can do this when using drag and drop as a separate activity, but not when it's inside the video player.

Please can someone advise if it's possible to use the interactive video activity with only the keyboard.

Thanks,

Cat

Hi Cat,

Can you please elaborate on what is struggle? Can you please check my simple content here and see if you will have the same issues.

Hi BV52,

Thanks, so much for your response.

No, I can tab with the keyboard in your example and it is exactly how I experienced using the stand-alone activity.

In my example, I can't seem to tab in the same way. I have created it using the Moodle plugin so I wonder if that is why I'm having issues? I can't seem to tab on to the activity, only on to the check box at the bottom. Unfortunately, I can't share the activity here as it is a closed site, but thank you for confirming it is possible for it to work correctly.

Hi Cat,

I tested the same content in Moodle and it works as it should. Since I don't see your content and/or its settings I can't give you a definite answer on what is causing the issue. However I may be able to help you isolate the problem on your end. Below are a few things that you can try:

1. Download my sample content and upload it to Moodle.

2. Check if keyboard navigaition will work.

3. If it does, cross reference my settings with your content to see what may be the difference (this might still be a bug although it only happens with certain settings combination).

4. If my content exhibits the same issue in Moodle there could be another plugin that may be causing this.

I hope this helps.
