image hotspots not showing background image ipad air 2

Hi 5 People

A have a question about a "potential bug"

  1. Created an image hotspot activity on Moodle 3.2
  2. Added a background image 1280x1280 png transparent as background image
  3. Added 4 hotspots with text
  4. Tested Safari Version 9.1.3 (9537.86.7.8) Mac --> everything works OK
  5. Tested Firefox Version 9.1.3 51.0.1 (64-bit) Mac --> everything works OK
  6. Tested on ipad air 2 Safari --> background image doesn't show, but hotspots show in proper places and work (I have 2 units of this device and both with the same result)
  7. Tested on iPhone latest ios --> background image doesn't show, but hotspots show in proper places and work (I have 2 units of this device and both with the same result)

Replaced the Background Image with a JPG file and reduced dimension to 800x800

Same results as above.

Are there specific settings that I maybe missing?

A friend with a Samsumg galaxy 5 phone also reported that could not see the background image and everything else worked ok.

ANY help would be much appreciated,

Regards

Carlos Boton

Hi,

That was strange.

If you use your iPad and go to the Image Hotspots example here on h5p.org (https://h5p.org/image-hotspots), do you see the same problem?

Could try rotating your iPad, to see if the image is shown then? E.g from portrait to landscape.

Hello

Thank you for your answer to the matter.

I ended up having a major issue with the Moodle installation on my hosting and having to re-install it from scratch.
As for now BOTH your example and my test Image hotspot are working fine on iPad.
I uploaded exactly the same .h5p file that presented the issue and now it is working just fine.

Sorry but I have no idea what happened, since the issue happen for me and Australia and for a test person in Brazil.

By the way H5P is the best thing I've seen in a long time. I'll use it a lot.

Kind Regards

Carlos Alberto (Beto) Boton
