Interactive Video Looping

Question from RoyElevate

Is it possible to stop the video from 'looping'? If the interactive video is finished, it starts again automatically. We used a YouTube-video and haven't checked the 'loop'-box, but it still loops. Has this to do with the settings in YouTube? Thanks in advance!
I tried reproducing this but I am unable to. I also checked Youtube if there is a setting for looping a video but I can't find it (if there is any). Would you mind sharing a Youtube URL that you used that has this issue?
Thanks BV52 for trying! One of the videos we used is https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mfKWm7BNMAo. I can't find a looping setting as well, not in YouTube and not in H5P. I'm curious whether this video also loops when you try it.

Hi Roy,

I created an IV here. As you can see the video is not looping. So this could be something else aside from the video or the video is not what really is causing it. In order to give your bug report the best chance of getting answered, please include the following information:

  1. Detailed steps to reproduce the bug (exactly how and when did it happen)
  2. Platform and version number. E.g. Drupal, Wordpress, Moodle.
  3. Mobile or Desktop
  4. Browser: Chrome, Firefox, Safari etc
  5. H5P plugin version
  6. H5P content type and version (if a content type was used), and a sample URL or attached H5P.
  7. Any browser console errors
  8. Any PHP errors

Number 6 is very important if in case the issue is still not reproduceable using a similar environment as yours. The more information you provide, the quicker the community will be able to fix it and the quicker you'll have a working solution!

Hi BV52.

We also noticed recently that only the YouTube Interactive Videos won't stop looping even though the "Loop the video" box is unchecked.

Uploaded mp4’s used for the H5P Interactive videos do stop looping as they should with the box unchecked.

H5P was updated September 6th, but we can't confirm if this issue started occurring immediately after the upgrade was done - it was just reported now.

I have manually "updated the content type cache" and this did not solve the problem. Libraries are current.

We use Chromebooks.

Moodle version: 3.5.1

H5P:  1.10

Interactive Video version: 1.17.2

Any ideas?

Thank you for your help!

Hi jbaumgartner,

Do you have a sample content that we can test and download?

Hi BV52.

New H5P library updates are now showing in our system (since yesterday when I was trouble-shooting this issue). I updated the Interactive Video library (from 1.17.2 to 1.19.4)  and the YouTube videos have stopped continuously looping - all seems to work as it should!

Not sure if H5P recently added these library updates since they weren't there yesterday or if our system was causing them to show late, but all works as it should.

I appreciate your help!

Hi jbaumgartner,

I'm glad that it is now working for you.

Afaik there are no new updates the past 2-3 weeks.
