Dictation

I would like to create a dictation. But my audio files mp3 (83 KB) are rejected. What can I do? Best regards and many thanks for your help! Siegbert Rudolph

Hi Siegbert,

Can you please check this thread, I think your issue might be related to it. Dictation should accept mp3 files.

Hi all!

Please note that this is an H5P-spanning problem, not a problem with Dictation alone. You may encounter the same problem in other content types that support audio.

When the pending update of Dictation is released eventually, you will be able to record directly from the editor :-)

Best,
Oliver

Thank you!

Hello! I used some dictation exercises. Some time ago mistakes were shown when you pressed check and there were two colours green and red for this purpose. But now it doesn’t work this way. You press check and everything is grey, you can see only the number of mistakes, but they are not marked. Does anybody have the same problem?

Hi Natarom,

Can you check the sample contents here if you see the same issue, I just tried it and it works as expected. Also it would be better if you could provide more information like what is suggested in this forum.

Thank you for your reply. Now, it works like in the sample (when you check everything is grey). It seems to me that Dictation worked differently some time ago. I mean the process of checking was clearer for students, and they ask me why it doesn’t show now where the mistake is and what is correct, simply it counts the points. I thought you had changed something in the content.

Hi Natarom!

I'm not sure what you mean by "everything is grey", but the behavior definitely has not changed (or you're encountering a bug and you should check the development console for errors by pressing F12 or Ctrl-Alt-J depending on your browser).

When you click on 'check', the input field gets blocked indicated by a darker background. If you click on 'show solution', then you'll see what was right or wrong. Of course, if you disable the 'show solution' button, seeing the solution won't be possible.

Best,

Oliver
