Find Multiple Hotspots Doesn't Display Final Score

Hi there

We're having an issue with the 'Find Multiple Hotspots' content type where the final score isn't displayed at the end of an attempt. As you can see in the screenshot below, a gold star for completion is displayed but the score is not. Every other content type performs perfectly, it is only this one that presents the error.

Environment:

  • We're running a dev version of moodle 3.5 and a live version of moodle 3.1 and the error occurs on both.
  • Desktop and Mobile Chrome Browser
  • H5P 1.14
  • Multiple Hotspot v1.0 Content Type

Hi GuyASRC!

The content type "Find Multiple Hotspots" was not created by the H5P core team but by Luke Muller. Unfortunately, he discontinued development, see https://github.com/lukemuller/h5p-image-multiple-hotspot-question

Hopefully someone in the community will adopt his project.

Best,

Oliver

Thanks Oliver - we ran into issues with this question type and have stopped using it now after your comment

1. Is there an alternative question type that allows for questions on hotspots?

2. Is there a way to identify or filter for core-team question types and community-contributed question types? I see many are created by "Joubel" - does that mean it was the core  team? Are they always named that, or does it change depending on which core-team developer did the work?

Hi Stewart,

  1. I'm afraid there are no alternative question types in H5P.
  2. You are correct Joubel is company that owns H5P and the core team works for them. If a content is created by someone from the core team it will always show Joubel as the author.

Thanks BV
If we wanted to create a fix for this issue ourselves what would be the way to go about it?
Would we need to contact Luke for code and permission? Is there a shared space and review team for contributions?

Thank you BV

If we wanted to contribute a fix to this plugin to get it working how would we go about that? Would we need to contact Luke for permission and source code? Is there a process for contributions?

Hi Stewart,

In Luke's github repo he already left a note that he doesn't have time to manage this content type and has given permission to anyone who wants to take over or make changes to it. So feel free to fork the codes. In terms of contributing fixes, enhancements etc. you can check this documentation for details.
