How can I see how many open/use my h5p content?

Hi,

I am using H5p as a plugin on wordpress and I would realy like to se how many people are using my content.

I tried xabikatchu, but I cant see how many are using it. Is it not possible with Xabikatchu?

Kind regards

Malte

Hi Malte,

xAPIkatchu as far as I know does not have this feature. Also if I'm not mistaken the xAPI statements does not include 'usage' in it. I could be wrong though so I highly recommend looking through these documentation:

https://h5p.org/documentation/x-api

https://h5p.org/documentation/for-authors/analyzing-results-and-answers

Hi Malte!

The plugin xAPIkatchu does only store what's delivered by the content type. Some H5P contents emit an "attempted" event that xAPIkatchu will store, some don't, so there's no reliable way for xAPIkatchu to count how often some content was retrieved. I assume that simply analyzing your server access logs would be a better approach.

Best,
Oliver

Thank you so much for your quick reply, and how would I analyze my server logs on wordpress?

Thank you so much for your reply and how would I do that on wordpress - analyzing my server access?

Thank you so much, and how would I do that. Accessing my server logs on wordpress?

The server logs are provided by Apache, Nginx or whatever you're using. You'd have to filter them for the info that you need. Not sure if there's a WordPress plugin that can help you with that.

Would it work with that plugin? https://wordpress.org/plugins/user-login-history/

Hi Oliver,

Thanks again for your reply. That was very useful. Does anyone know if H5p is compatible with google analytics?

Kind regards

Malte

Hi Malte!

I assume that you could use Google Analytics to count hits on H5P sites, but there's not out-of-the-box solution AFAIK.

Oliver
