Find the Word (WordSearch) is Just Not Mobile Ready?

Am I missing anything?  Is there a way to get the word search - Find the Words - to work on mobile?

Hi Riff!

I tried it on an Android phone, and it works well.

In order to give your bug report the best chance of getting answered, please include the following information:

  1. Detailed steps to reproduce the bug (exactly how and when did it happen)
  2. Platform and version number. E.g. Drupal, Wordpress, Moodle.
  3. Mobile or Desktop
  4. Browser: Chrome, Firefox, Safari etc
  5. H5P plugin version
  6. H5P content type and version (if a content type was used), and a sample URL or attached H5P.
  7. Any browser console errors
  8. Any PHP errors
  9. Screenshots if it's a visual problem
  10. Any recent changes to the environment (new plugins/modules, updates, configuration changes etc.)
  11. Any recent changes to the browser you're using (new extensions, updates etc.)

The more information you provide, the quicker the community will be able to fix it and the quicker you'll have a working solution!

Best,

Oliver

Ok, thanks Oliver, here is the info:

H5P Version 1.13.1, WordPress 5.2.2 placed on a page, IOS-Mobile, Safari & Chrome, Find the Words (content type)

Issue is that only a part of the word grid is visible, you cannot select the entire word.  Screen shots attached.

Hi Riff!

You're right, and that's not an iOS issue but a general issue with small screens. "Find the Words" was not created by the H5P core team, and I am not sure if the author of the content type reads this forum. Maybe you should contact him directly via his user profile or his repository.

Best,
Oliver

Thanks for that suggestion- I was hopeful when I saw the example here work just fine on my phone:

his user proifile says acess denied and I did not see away to contact in gitlab.  But I found a plug in in the WP library that will get us by for now.  Agin thanks for your help!

Which plugin did you use to overcome this issue? A wordsearch that only shows half the columns is not useful.

Sent that information, it doesn't look like my last post is published yet.  Additionally, I even tried to create it here on H5P and embed in iframe...same problem.  BUT when I go to the exapmle from my iphone, it works great. It looks like it is not playing nice with WordPress

Any progress on this?  My students are accessing this via moodle on a range of Apple devices and it does not work as expected?

Hi ridleyl,

It's best that you check with the developer/maintainer of the libraries through his Git repo from the link given by Otacke above.
